Updated 01/11/2026. Plain English: what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Site Science runs sitescience.uk and makes visual explainers and revision guides for the trades. You can contact us about your data at hello@sitescience.uk.

Visiting the site

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't build a profile of you. We see totals, such as how many people viewed a page, which site sent them, their country and the type of device. We use this to see what's useful. This is our legitimate interest in running the site.

Asking for the free guide

When you ask for the free guide, we collect your email address, the time you asked, which form you used and, later, when you opened the guide. We use this to email you the guide and to see how many people use it. This is our legitimate interest in providing the guide you asked for.

Asking for the guide doesn't sign you up to anything else. We won't send you other emails unless you also tick the box to hear from us.

Emails about new lessons and guides (optional)

If you tick the box, we'll email you about new Site Science lessons, revision guides and product updates. We rely on your consent for this, and we keep a record of when you agreed and the wording you agreed to. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw consent by emailing us. Withdrawing doesn't affect the guide you already have.

Who handles your data for us

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep a free guide request for up to 24 months after your last request, then delete it. If you've opted in to emails, we keep your address until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only what's needed to make sure we don't email you again.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Email hello@sitescience.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
